I am going to have to check out Girls, lots of talk about it. I think I am missing outJhttp://lifelovesand.blogspot.ie/
My favorite "Flings" post this far! I was a tiny bit disappointed with the first ep of Girls but haven't seen the second. I LOVE Adam...they cannot write him out, but, at the time same, I'm thrilled to see Donald Glover on...he's hilarious in Community.
I also read Paris Wife, fell in love, and moved on to Moveable Feast only to find it very dull. I got through about 3/4 of it but only when I forced myself. I guess I expected him to talk about him and Hadley's relationship but he almost never mentions her and talks alot of random people he meets in bars and on the streets primarily. It only confirmed my feelings after A Paris Wife that he is a super selfish ass. I guess people say to be a great artist/writer like that you almost have to be. Either way, Gross. Maybe you will like it more than me.
Wow, I am so glad you mentioned Blink-182....takes me back! I may or may not have just updated my workout playlist to include some of those gems! Can't wait for all the changes are furbish. With my time on the East Coast drawing to a close, I think I will have to finally roadtrip down to come meet you, and Rowdy!
i am a huge fan of your blog, store, and design aesthetic, BUT i want to caution you on tip toeing into Victoria's Secret territory of using costume-y/literal application of Native American culture. Inspiration = great, misappropriation = not so great.Check out http://beyondbuckskin.blogspot.com/ to get updated on the conversation in fashion.
Oh that's right, Republicans can't be interesting, funny or likeable. Got it.
Thank you very much my friend.
That tee pee looks quite nice and cozy.
OMG! Your blog are PERFECT! It's so beautiful and... I just love it!
shut up, Ruth Stine.
Repub bit is in reference to the show.
Blink-182! Such an awesome band. It's nice to find people who like them as much as I do, my close friends despise that sort of music so it's refreshing to know that their music is loved. This post is so inspiring. I really love your blog! Sophie xxx http://burningintothenight.blogspot.co.uk/
I agree with Megan on A Moveable Feast, it really gives you a sense of his thoughts, and they are not endearing. Though it is dull and drags on in parts (almost all of it), I think back to some of his life lessons in it often and it stuck with me so I'm glad I finished it. I think the point is his looking back and as a reader you come to the realizations with him.
Look, I love like 90% of the stuff you do and am a long time reader of the blog, BUT please give a second thought to making "lighthearted" references about what was done to the native people of this land. Maybe this blog can provide you with a different perspective: http://nativeappropriations.com/
Republican bit...understood...my bad.
I agree with other comments, a Moveable Feast drags on (but I endured b/c we hosted a themed dinner party on book). Hemingway is hilarious at times and there are pockets of it in that book, esp the chapter about his roadtrip with F. Scott Fitzgerald.
I invite you to my bloghttp://worldwithmary.blogspot.com/thanks a lot! :)
WAIT! i'm so glad someone else thinks that blink 182 was one of the best shows they've seen! normally when i say that people laugh at me, but it actually was such a good concert #fourteen4life
I did the reverse last year-reading A Moveable Feast then Paris Wife-and I loved them both! Such a fascinating switch in perspectives.
I read The Paris Wife for book club and did exactly what you plan to do: checked out Moveable Feast again. Then it was onto some of his short stories. He was indeed an a-hole, but man could he craft a sentence. I always like to hear what you are reading when not designing.
The Paris Wife is one of my favorite books ever!
Blink 182 have always been my guilty pleasure-I'm glad I'm not alone!
Is The Paris Wife worth picking up?
for sure worth reading!
Nice blog, i like this.. :)
Wow, you post using images? That's cool :D
