what an amazing gem of a house in charlottesville, virginia. so perfectly aged and worn, full of special details and cozy corners. one day, i tell you. one day jamie meares will have her own cozy corners like these. until then, delight in all of this goodness:

This room is almost too perfect and beautiful! I would love to stay in it for a vacation home but I don't know if I could handle it day to day though I do find it very romantic and alluring. I guess as I age Bauhaus is looking better and better to me.

i feel like jamie meares DOES have comfy corners in her house, from the pics ive seen. this particular house makes me feela little haunted.... otherwise, id like to have champagne in old fashioned champagne glasses there

This IS a great home. Love all the layers and how it has a "worn" look to it. I can't help but wonder though....who does all the dusting????
Not my favorite. Just seems too staged. There is some creativity in there though and I saw some things I'd try. Thanks for sharing!

I was just browsing thru a Dec 2011 issue of Southern Living and saw this house and remembered that I loved it. I was searching online for more pics and I was brought here. Love the coziness and layers of the rooms...especially that little eat-in area in the first pic. Thanks for posting!
