hey errbody. how's it going? is it terribly hot where you live? apparently we're having a heat wave.
i'm staying busy. we had a fun photoshoot at my house this morning - and it was refreshingly easy. we didn't really style a thing. my house was photographed pretty raw and real. and i hope you find it interesting enough without it's make up on - i'm a little nervous. i'll let you know when it's live for judging.
interior decorating is keeping me occupied just about all day long. keila and maggie do not allow me to come up front in the store very much, and if i have a question about something, i have to submit it via a worksheet, and i'm guaranteed a response within 24 hours. sigh. i've created monsters.
it's very hard to let go of things when you own a small business. but i will say the number one advice i can give anyone interested in doing this store thing is to build a great team of people who are dedicated, smart, passionate and loyal. i am very proud of the team i have assembled at furbish, and they're making my life easier and easier by the day. pretty soon my job will be Lunch.
things that are interestin' me lately include: reading on the beach by nevil shute (i somehow missed that despite the english major?), summer casseroles, particularly with artichokes, iphone workout trainers (the nike one is great), and mourning doves (did you know that they are monogamous, and one couple raises 6 litters a year, and ...well just wiki them).
well, i'm glad we talked some, and i hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the longest days of the year. may the odds be ever in yals favor.
