alright young people, be frank with me. i'll be jamie.
do you really want a furbish online store? are you just asking b/c you feel bad for me that i possibly had a quarter life crisis and left the job of $ and despair to open a store and you're thinking, "bless her heart, i'll buy a pillow from her so she can buy more beans and rice for dinner".
(which is fine, i'm not questioning motive for buying, just if you plan to)
but for realz. selling online is a big endeavor. i want to know what you want to buy -- pillows? lamps? tiny delights? fabric? signed photos of rowdy? books?
is there a price point you think i should focus on?
do you even shop online? would you for me? we go way back, you & me.
would you pay to have furniture shipped? if a smokinghot upholstered bird ottoman was $450, and another $100 to ship to you, would you consider it?
paws up paws over new old wingchairs reupholstered in fun fabric for a client *if you're curious, reupholstering a chair like this is about $200/chair and you'll need approx. 5 yards of fabric finding new ways to eat beans and rice. zeeb brian took the top off the landrover and affixed moses to the dashboard. we went to the harris teeter on the other side of town so he could stop and talk to men about it. i painted the frame of a sofa i found for our kitchen table at market. prowler supervised.
is smoking hot and makes me want to redo my bedroom. not redo, but just add this.
it just arrived at furbish and instead of sell it, i am contemplating wrapping myself in it and sitting at my desk. this color must also be considered for equal hotness.
the greenbrier. i'm going in two weeks with my sponsor. barstools = yummy i like this moody dining room i'm working on i dunno birthday party - is someone throwing me one? i'll wear this. i made 14 of these this morning
but i have been at market in high point, taught a class, designed a few rooms, ate some cupcakes, found a sofa for my kitchen table and cleaned a lot of windows. here are some highlights of my purchases for the store from market
it will be my birthday in 1 month. i'd like one of these.
(and caroline, WE COULD HAVE A DISCO BALL, but you would not allow -- see how fashionable we could have been? surely a zebra pinata would have followed)
sharing a few pics from my aforementioned photo shoot of a home in raleigh i worked on. this project i am very proud of, and when i read this on ruthie sommers new blog, via caitlin creer , it pretty much summed it all up: My car is filled with fabric samples, old coffee cups and crumbled up paint chips. My office is not the beautiful neat organized office you may see on the pages of a magazine. The glossy white walls and perfectly p-touched folders are an illusion. I am proud of the homes I have decorated. I think they look wonderful on my website. But people live in them and there are stains on the ottoman and the peonies only make it to the mantel for the photo shoots and parties. I feel my success comes from something one can not photograph. The most fun I have aside designing sassy bars and cute powder rooms, is creating livable rooms and becoming part of someone’s family. I watch their purse carefully and in return I gain trust. And a great house is the outcome.
