Yep, pretty much how my couch looks 90% of the time. They're way too good for dog beds.

I am not sure but I have read that tree water can be really bad for cats/animals. May not be true but figured I would mention anyways. Love your tree!

My miniature schnauzer does the same thing to my couch...she has that same smug/satisfied look on her face, too...(c:

That is awesome and I am in the same boat with the dogs smashing pillows. A baby gate to corral them in the kitchen has been a lifesaver : )

Megan... The tree water sits for a long time, so it can grow bacteria which is potentially harmful to animals that drink it. You could put down a tree skirt which would block the cat if it worries you. Easy to do if you own a store!

Wrap some presents to block water access!!

my sweet little cat has been sleeping in the "snow" under the tree -- every day i come home and there's a tiny black present for me rolled up under the tree! it's so cute. i'm gonna watch and see if he's drinking the water too, though. haven't caught him doing that yet. ah, the holidays! :)

my dog and cat do exactly the same thing! why are the sofa back cushions so inviting?!?

I think Mr. Darcy and Rowdy have been sharing their couch smushing secrets. The top of the couch is his favorite place. He loves to sneak up behind guests on the couch and nibble their hair. Ellen is right, animals always win.

You think you've got problems. My sister has a great dane and just replace your Rowdie with my sister's Lucy. She thinks she's a cat and always lays on the back of the sofa wrapped around whoever will let her. Cushions look like smooshed potatoes.

Well, at least he doesn't chew them to pieces! (like mine - who I get so angry at until she looks at me all smiling and charming) jeez...
