sailing

By 10/12/2010

brian and i went sailing for our 5 year anniversary. we started in little washington, sailed down the pamlico river, and over to ocracoke island. 4 days is a long time to be on a boat. rowdy didn't go. no dogs.  just brian.  and me.  that's all.

brian meares, who seemed thoroughly entertained the entire time due to the fact he could look somewhere and think, 'huh. look at that. wonder why it's like that?" and then spend the next two hours contemplating why.

  4. I can't imagine what I'd do with myself if I had that much time to read. I probably would have started about 25 blog posts in bullet format and saved them for later when I got back to civilization. Glad you were able to have a good time DESPITE your circumstances. ;)

  5. Too funny- my husband had a sailboat when we got married but it didn't last long- had to trade that in so I could decorate the house:)

  6. I was going to say that Im pretty sure I could handle 4 days like that....but I would require some shore stops to investigate surroundings and have a change of scenery. Without that I guess all that serenity now -would be a bit boring!

  9. Congrats, that looks amazing but I think I might have to jump off the boat and swim for shore...I wouldn't know what to do with myself!

  10. look on the bright side... brian probably pondered enough things in four days to earn an online degree in philosophy!

  12. Your captions seriously cracked me up. My hubby and I went sailing recently and I slept in the sun most of the time. Ha!

  13. You are, however, impeccably dressed for your sailing adventure!

I'm a thinker like Brian so I would have a lovely time sitting in that hammock, but I think I'd get a tad claustrophobic on a sailboat for four days. Happy anniversary!

  15. this post cracked me up. I once went on a similar sailing trip in the BVI and came to the exact same conclusion re: time on a boat. at one point we docked at a resort and there was almost mutiny.

  16. Umm, let's discuss what really matters most here. Your foot pose. In that last picture. It's like Tyra was behind the camera yelling at you. God bless her!
