duogram?
i'm a sucker for a big ole monogram, which is why i'm dropping off our duvet at the local monogram store to get mearesed up this week. but i'm wondering, isn't it a little... unfair... to put my monogram smack in the middle of the bed?
wonder if i did a mash up of both of our initials with the M in the middle. is that a faux pas?

There's such a thing as a wedding monogram--the shared last name initial is centered, with the bride's on the left and the groom's on the right. Not a faux pas at all!
My husband and I have the same exact initials LAS. We're lucky if I ever decide I want a monogram.
Definitely not a faux pas--we did this for our wedding programs.
i did a mash up.
my initials are JLA if monogrammed it would be probably JAL.
so to show proper respect to the husband i did JAM as in jennyANDERSONmike.

okay, here's a question for all you smarties-
I REALLY love the whole "wedding" monogram idea, but i always get "hung up" on this - my husband's name is william but he goes by bill. So would I use W or B for his part it?
I just saw Tommy Hilfigers apartment at the Plaza in In Style Magazine and on their master bed, the initials are last name in the middle.
I love this idea!! I'm pretty sure I need this to happen in my bedroom!
i have monograms everywhere in our home. big sucker here for that stuff! our headboard is monogrammed with my first initial, our last name, and his first initial. and in our bathroom, our lights are monogrammed one with his 3 initials and 1 with mine. you can click on my side bar pics to view what i'm talking about. if i were to do our pillow shams, i would do a his and hers probably.

i worked at a stationery store through college and did many, many couples' monograms. so just to confirm what everyone else is saying, yepp, you can totally do JMB.
I'm going to get our pillows monogrammed. Instead of my initials, I'm having "don't touch my fucking pillow" put on mine.
I'm so glad you posted this. I was about to do a big monogramed shower curtain for us, same thing. Do you do the mash up, or the old fashioned woman's way? I think I'm going to go for the mash up too!
I think it's just the new way of monogramming, not old school. I am a little old school, but lucky that my husband's initial is the same as my maiden. Why not scratch the center monogram on the duvet, and do different ones on the shams?

I thought the same thing about having my initials all over our bed. I did the shared initials instead and I love it.
