A beach themed dog party, swimming in the sound, relaxing the hammock, showered with gifts from Tucker and the girls. Dog friendly cupcakes for dessert. All attendees should receive personalized bandanas to accessorize with all summer long!

Baxter just had his third birthday. We celebrated with a raw turkey neck (gross, but they come frozen so I don't have the handle them), a new stuffed squirrel (its tail was disconnected within an hour), and a trip to the office (I work at a university and he LOVES to hang out with students).

We're making peanut butter "ice cream" this weekend...peanut butter mixed with plain yogurt and frozen. It's like dog crack.

Rowdy is so cute!!!

My little schnauzer, emma einstein, loves to do what schnauzers love best - chase squirrels and, of course, bark. Bark at everything. Go to the dog park and chase and bark the day away.

Carrie said...

omg how fun! I would need 4 of those beds, so hopefully we'll win 1 and fall in love with it. Since it will be really hot, a trip to the mountains or the beach would be great! It's too hot to stay in Raleigh!

rowdy should take a swim, sit in the sun, chew a rawhide & then have a special dinner that night. oh & of course, share it with his bff!

Rowdy should celebrate like our pug, The Colonel. We "accidently" dropped some chicken on the kitchen floor. Then, he hung out on the porch and sunned himself with a fan blowing on him.

Rowdy is a cutie. For his big celebration, I might suggest a good long belly rub followed by a long walk then to a chicken dinner with an ice cream dessert to follow.
The blue bed would fit our dog, Dot perfectly.
Thanks for the giveaway.

Does Rowdy enjoy swimming? My dog Jasco always enjoys a good swim and a giant rawhide bone. Doggie cupcakes are fun too. Thanks for the giveaway Rowdy!

Rowdy should get a visit to the dog park followed by a dip in a kiddie pool or creek and then a bake in the sun. He should finish his day with a steak and eggs dinner with a locopops pupsicle for dessert.

Rowdy should be allowed to do something that he wouldn't normally be able to do.

If he is anything like my pup, Rowdy's perfect birthday celebration will involve copious amounts of scooby snacks, long naps, and perhaps a fetch session (given the temperature is not above his liking, in which case he'll pass).

MGS Fotografie said...

Rowdy should spend the day at the dog park with his buddies, then lounge on his dog bed with some Frosty Paws and doggy cake.

Both Mac and Whistler's birthdays are in August so we know what it's like to have a dog birthday in the dog days of summer.

First, have your human take you to a cool lake where you can play "bobbing for rocks". Nap. Then, eat something tasty like a squirrel or chipmunk. Nap. Finally, have big snuggles with your human.

lynn said...

Why not have a dog party at your store? Everyone loves to see Rowdy. He could were a hat and people could bring dog food to be donated to the SPCA. Maybe a post on your blog inviting everyone to come on down and celebrate with him!! Bring a bone!

I think that you should make a cake edible for dogs (I have made one... the dogs LOVE them!) and a birthday party inviting all of his dear human and doggy friends. If he needs some clothes to wear, I recomend http://www.funnyfur.com/ if you want him to look absoulely DASHING. Hand out a little chew toy party favor when the guests leave. Give him a long massage therapy and scratch him in his very FAVORITE spots afterwards. Let him sit on the couch or your bed if he isn't allowed already... just for the day. Praise him all day long, and take him for a swim if he likes it. Oh, and during dinner, make sure he gets his own plate with the foods that are safe for him to eat. Happy birthday, Rowdy!

Love,
Riley (your jr. intern, and toni's daughter)

PS- Give Rowdy a bath the night before so he is nice and clean for his party!

Rowdy's birthday:
Rowdy takes his sweet ride to the dog park, wearing his favorite ascot and smoking jacket. He puffs a cigar, eyes the ladies and invites them back to his place for bourbon and "gettin' Rowdy."

The beds:
Are those Thomas Paul fabrics? I've been thinking about getting an upholstered headboard. Hmmmm.

Elizabeth said...

here is the plan:

-wake up to steak breakfast.
- then off to the lake or ocean to swim for awhile.
-after a mid-morning nap, wake up and go hang with his buddies & chase squirrels while they all wear "happy birthday Rowdy" hats
- now the mid-afternoon nap
- wake up to a happy birthday song from mom & dad
- dinner - his favorite dish!
- a special doggie cupcake for dessert with two candles on it with a big birthday wish.
- a little playtime before bed
- a kiss goodnight.

Happy Birthday Rowdy!

Dear Rowdy,

My name is Sam and I'm a wheaten terrier mix from San Diego. My mom shows me cute pictures of you all the time! I'm very excited for your upcoming 2nd birthday. For my 3rd birthday last September my parents made me the yummiest cupcakes and I got to eat them off of a plate! That was a lot of fun. Since it's always fun to go to the dog park, I would include that on your special day... and don't forget to roll around on the grass... that's my favourite! A nice nap in the shade sounds quite pleasant as well. I'm sure you'll enjoy your birthday as much as all of your other days since it looks like you have great parents like mine!

Happy Birthday... bark bark!

Love,
Sam

The Rowd-ster should use his incredible influence and dashing good looks to give back to the canine kind, too. Maybe help his awesome mommy set up a collection at Furbish for the SPCA of Wake County (going no-kill July 1!) or the Wake County Animal Shelter. Then, as every good philanthro-puppy should do on his birthday, celebrate with "cookies" from Just Dogs Gourmet in Crabtree, a thorough belly rub from both his parents, an evening truck ride with the top off, and maybe a scrap of steak that's been "dropped" from the dinner table.

Tanya said...

Rowdy should eat doggie cupcakes and run free on the beach!
