  3. Baxter just had his third birthday. We celebrated with a raw turkey neck (gross, but they come frozen so I don't have the handle them), a new stuffed squirrel (its tail was disconnected within an hour), and a trip to the office (I work at a university and he LOVES to hang out with students).

We're making peanut butter "ice cream" this weekend...peanut butter mixed with plain yogurt and frozen. It's like dog crack.

  60. Riley Jane Taylor (Toni's Daughter)June 27, 2010 at 1:53 PM

    Jamie:

I think that you should make a cake edible for dogs (I have made one... the dogs LOVE them!) and a birthday party inviting all of his dear human and doggy friends. If he needs some clothes to wear, I recomend http://www.funnyfur.com/ if you want him to look absoulely DASHING. Hand out a little chew toy party favor when the guests leave. Give him a long massage therapy and scratch him in his very FAVORITE spots afterwards. Let him sit on the couch or your bed if he isn't allowed already... just for the day. Praise him all day long, and take him for a swim if he likes it. Oh, and during dinner, make sure he gets his own plate with the foods that are safe for him to eat. Happy birthday, Rowdy!

    Love,
Riley (your jr. intern, and toni's daughter)

PS- Give Rowdy a bath the night before so he is nice and clean for his party!

    The beds:
Are those Thomas Paul fabrics? I've been thinking about getting an upholstered headboard. Hmmmm.

  77. Dear Rowdy,

My name is Sam and I'm a wheaten terrier mix from San Diego. My mom shows me cute pictures of you all the time! I'm very excited for your upcoming 2nd birthday. For my 3rd birthday last September my parents made me the yummiest cupcakes and I got to eat them off of a plate! That was a lot of fun. Since it's always fun to go to the dog park, I would include that on your special day... and don't forget to roll around on the grass... that's my favourite! A nice nap in the shade sounds quite pleasant as well. I'm sure you'll enjoy your birthday as much as all of your other days since it looks like you have great parents like mine!

    Happy Birthday... bark bark!

    Love,
    Sam

  78. The Rowd-ster should use his incredible influence and dashing good looks to give back to the canine kind, too. Maybe help his awesome mommy set up a collection at Furbish for the SPCA of Wake County (going no-kill July 1!) or the Wake County Animal Shelter. Then, as every good philanthro-puppy should do on his birthday, celebrate with "cookies" from Just Dogs Gourmet in Crabtree, a thorough belly rub from both his parents, an evening truck ride with the top off, and maybe a scrap of steak that's been "dropped" from the dinner table.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Rowdy should eat doggie cupcakes and run free on the beach!

    ReplyDelete
  80. I love it! My parents dog, Kenzie could really use this. They cannot afford a good bed for her right now. I think if we asked her, she would like a medium or large in the green, please. :-)

Followed by a walk and perhaps play time with some doggie freinds...
My doggie's b-day is in winter, so she doesn't get as many fun activities...
