things to discuss

1: intern hired.
photo-109
meet keila.  this is her at the flea market saturday morning with an unidentified petite ground bird that we should have bought.

2: my new sofa
photo-108
it's in brian's office.  he looked at it, quickly passed judgement - "i don't get it'.
it's an urban outfitter's tapestry i'd had and loved forever, and now it's a slipcover, paired with a houndstooth, which i thought he would like.  sigh.

2b: new spring dog collars are in the shop.  rowdy went with green.
photo-110greek keys also in pink, orange and black.  these can be shipped easily, says rowdy.  they are $30 and highly fashionable.  (there are 3 sizes - tiny dog, medium dog and biggish dog - rowdy is medium at 40lbs)

3: next month, i'm going to be carrying roberta freymann's home line roberta roller rabbit.  i am extra stoked about this because her stuff is so great looking, the price point is terribly affordable, and i'll be the only store in NC carrying her line.
roberta
there are quilts, baby blankets, fabric nesting boxes, pillows, beach bags, napkins, pouches and other delights.

4: to house a lot of this new merch, i bought one of these.  it's just sitting here empty now...

5: which means april's class is going to be....... bookcase styling!!  my one true calling in life - to make pretty piles of books, and to teach others how to.  i'll announce the date and start signing people up next week.

Ooh, I need one of those dog collars for my Bernese Mountain Dog, Coco. Do they come in EXTRA LARGE? Please let me know. Also, what colors do they come in?

Thanks!

What's better than a blank bookcase waiting to be filled with knick-knacks and books?!

You hired Keila! I'm so excited! I'll have to call her. You may not remember, but when you put out the call for an intern, I left her name in a comment because I thought she'd be great for the job. I'm thrilled! How exciting. :)

Damn you, Jamie Meares, for not living in the same state as I do, or I would attend said bookshelf class and work at befriending you. Hmph.

i typically love all your stuff. but today i say... the intern works, the sofa - not so much. if you love it, that is all that counts.

No straight man is going to like that sofa.

What an awesome idea! I can't wait to hear more about your bookcase styling. It's long been a favorite past time of mine. A bookcase speaks volumes-literally- about a person!

Any chance those cute collars will come in kitty sizes in the future? We finally got our Thisbe a little plaid collar, but I think she'd look cute in that Greek key too!

i cannot tell you how upset this post makes me... i composed an e-mail months ago asking if i could intern for you. obviously i never sent said e-mail for god-knows-what-reason. because i am a fool. that's why.

what i'm trying to say is: if you're ever in need of another intern or even a shop girl, i want on that short list! for serious.

I like the sofa and just adore the yellow pillows- where did you get them/fabric for them? Looks like a geisha silhouette?

Lovely!
