Those are cute. I wish I had the space for them! As far as the book for place mats, it doesn't seem like it would be too hard to put a protective surface on the top. I guess they'd still be vulnerable to massive spills (like a bottle of wine being tipped over) but I like the look of it.

Ooooo... I love those! Especially in that great tranquil turquoise-y color. What do you make/serve in yours? I've never made itty bitty casseroles, but now I want to!
