more

we acquired a huge stuffed peacock, in full plume.
photo-57

he's lording over the pillows.  he looks sort of drunk.
photo-58

rowdy is very unsure about the whole thing.  he won't get on his bed, but will lie on the floor just near enough to keep an eye on the peacock.
photo-66

i made some art for the monster nightstands.  brian says it's very modern.  he's mine ladies - my discerning husband.

today's job is to organize this.  i'm looking for some clear acrylic boxes.  decent sized.  not expensive.  any ideas?

I love your taste. I could totally make myself at home in your store.

I'm with rowdy on this one...Keep an eye on that sucker. My mom had an affinity for stuffed peacocks placed unexpectedly throughout the home. Let me tell you it'll scare the bejesus out of you when you get up for a midnight glass of water/sneak in after a late night...but maybe that was the intention

Maybe try somewhere like The Container Store, Space Savers, or Organize.com. Container Store always has stuff like that when I'm in there.

Definitely Container Store and try IKEA as well:

I so love the posts about your shop!! I think my favorite image today is the elegant pedestal table with the ghost chairs - I want that!! The turquoise hutch is pretty snazzy, too. Bam bam holler!! :)

Jamie, I LOVE your use of color and pattern! You have such a great eye.

That new peacock is pretty fab. Poor Rowdy, though! I think Tate would be pretty dubious about that thing, too.

The studio looks fantastic. Bam! Holler! You are too funny! :)

Such a cute store! Ikea has clear acrylic bins in a few different sizes. I went to look at them yesterday for my own home. They are smaller than expected, but they are fun and cheap!

I want this peacock! My husband's middle name is Peacock and I have a small collection. This one would be named Peter Peacock in memory of one of my husband's former pets.

I love the locker-type thing that the peacock is sitting on top of. Was that a thrift find or did you purchase it from somewhere as a display?

What a find! Love the lobster pillow and the turquoise cabinet with the Chinese chippendale fretwork.

This Little Nest said...

I love the art on the nightstands. How did you make it? Or was it just purchased and put into frames? Or are you an artist and it was really complicated and I don't really wanna know? :)

i suwannee said...

extremely complicated. poured black oil paint on poster board. let it dry. framed it.

kay* said...

lol, oh my gosh the picture and caption with your dog sleeping BESIDE his dog bed (wary of the peacock) made me laugh out loud! that's exactly what my dog would do - he'd be a bit unsure of the whole thing...lol
