pro-ject

next week my project is to paint our front door black. this is purely for function. i don't think grease will show up on black. b/c it sure does on light blue.

I would LOVE to paint my door black, if only it wasn't a rental! Also, this photo was the start of my lilac obsession of 2009.

i love this picture..is it from a really old house beautiful? i remember it because i loved that (whichever magazine) did a whole piece on decorating for different age groups. i too, loved the lilacs and tried to draw those in the vase but my drawing didn't do them justice.

I love the look of a black front door. Can't wait to see the afters!

So, you're painting the interior door? Can't wait to see that. Will be beautiful and might make me take the plunge to do ours. Why is painting a door so much scarier than painting the walls to me???

Sooooo glamourous! I'm painting the handrails and treads of my staircase black; the risers and spindles white. Hope it looks as great as this black/white combo. Of course, that shot of purple is the perfect foil.

Wow, black doors look so amazing. my front door is light blue as well.. whenever we repaint, I'll definitely keep black in mind!

Besides the convenience of not having a dirty-looking door, the black door will look super cool! You'll have to post pictures once you're done. :)

Love this look. Even if for function, it's very chic.

I think black doors look fabulous. my boyfriend and I painted the back of the front door to his apartment (a basic door with no paneling) with black chalkboard paint. the black door looks great and the chalkboard is so functional. bon chance! you're really going to love it :)

I painted mine black a few months back and am even considering doing the interior side black, too! It's a satisfying project because it can be so quickly completed :)

Ok...you know you love and miss a magazine when you recognize the apartment from Domino...lol. I think this is from the age issue...and the profiled apartment's dweller was in his 20s....am I right, am I right?

Everything looks better with a little bit of semi-gloss on it ;)

Black doors are fab! I painted out all of the doors in my home black and love, love, love them! It gave my home a more architectural feel. You will not regret it! :)

I LOVE the chalkboard door idea from a lovely being! Our back door is immediately next to our fridge - I think it would be a fabulous place to keep fridge inventory!

wish i could paint mine black, but my house is a coral color, so i'm thinkin' it'll look a little halloween-y. are you painting the interior of the door, as well?

I love black doors! But I'm curious as to why you have grease on your door?!
