a few things from the bedroom

cat hair makes me ill. not physically, but mentally. fighting it consumes me.

we have three cats and their dog sanctuary is our bed. so it's covered, all the time. the best way to combat it, i've found, is a pet sponge, and a constant washing and changing of sheets.

last night i washed everything, including the comforter, only to have them pile back on, one by one. here's what i'm up against:

also, you have to find happiness where you can. in the closet it's my one organized nook. just one.

{sorry for the crap photos - camera is dunzo again. anyone have any suggestions for a new one?}

if this doesn't make you happy...

then i don't know what does.

jcrew's cotton cady erica dress.

target, is that you?

ikea bound

the new ikea in charlotte opened today. my mom and i are going to go this weekend (she doesn’t know that yet). it’s going to be totally crazy, i know.

i’m making a list of staples i need. number 1 is sheep skins. they are absolutely essential in our house for saving our couch from rowdy. olivia is very helpful in that whenever she thinks it’s time to replace an old one, she’ll pee on it.

i’m also interested in their new fabrics, as well as a dog bowl stand, and possibly a light fixture to replace the terrible one in our study.

hark! fabulous alia, who's etsy shop sweetshorn vintage is a new sponsor, is giving away this perfect globe to one of my readers. all you have to do is go browse her shop, take it all in, and then leave a comment here about what things you like, what you'd like to see more of, and if you think i should start wearing a watch and which one?.

i'll pick a winner at random and then you must show us how you display this worldy delight in your crib.

lindsay says her job stresses her out, so that's why she looks like skeletor.

really? b/c i think i'd just find a new job if i couldn't even find time to eat.

she's not a brain surgeon, or the president...she doesn't run a company, or even have to work in customer service and talk to angry people. she doesn't have to shuffle paperwork, or answer to a boss, or figure out what discount to give the student group who got the wrong color of sweatshirt.

i did hear she's coming out with her own line of spray tan. so there's that. to keep you from eating. obvi.

the road

i started reading the road by cormac mccarthy last week, and i can't finish it.

i read in bed at night, and it's just not sound sleeping material. i imagine at the end, it would leave me with some profound faith in humanity's will to survive...

or they could just die, and it was all for nothing.

have you finished it?

cat speak

you must go and try this!

(type 'i swan e' and listen in beth's voice for the elusive blog pronunciation)

affordable art

i can’t say enough good things about (and no, they’re not paying me too – although I’d gladly let them).

they have such reasonable framing prices – waaaay better than michael’s or acmoore who i am lifetime boycotting for their never ending ‘50% off sales’ – , and you can usually get free shipping with a coupon code

here are my picks, if I hadn’t already picked:

spotlight on spotlights

i'm not entirely sure what needs to be done with this spotlight from cb2, but clearly, something does.

da na, da na, da na na na na na na

i'm trying not to buy into it, but my friday the 13th is going poorly.

i'd rather be back here, and not start over. just pass.

and no, that's not my bedroom. i think it's from an AT house tour? (*update - found it here).
my bedroom is covered with things we haven't unpacked yet from colorado. the window is duct taped, and prowler threw up on the carpet this morning. other than that = close.

and npr, you've met your goal. $ is raised = end godforsaken fund drive. if i have to hear banter between middle-aged white people any longer, i'll stroke out.

it's science

i found some crazy high resolution botantical prints doing a google image search. i'm thinking of printing them as 16" by 20" posters.

just throwing it out there. if you don't like it - throw it right back.
