i'm looking for a wood carved panel like this one above the mantel. any advice?
I can't see the detail but it looks like mashrabiya. It was originally used to cover windows in Egypt and is now mostly used for decoration. If you do a search you should be able to find plenty of vendors.
http://nongnit.com/teakpanels/natural/wpsnt401.htmlThat site has some good ones!
It's not quite the same, but Overstock.com has a teak panel for $63. Here's the link:http://www.overstock.com/Worldstock/Reclaimed-Teak-Wood-Lotus-Carving-Thailand/2876344/product.html
I hope I have a living room that looks like this one day!! And I can' ttell you where to find that panel but good luck! XO

Do you have any architectural salvage yards around your parts? If not you can also try http://www.architecturalartifacts.com/store/it's an architectural salvage warehouse here that usually has great stuff at all different prices, some of it is INSANE expensive though, so you kind of have to search. Not sure what their online selection is like...good luck!
Also, Viva Terra has some- their company supports fair trade and sustainable products. www.viviaterra.com
i have a friend who stenciled and painted something similar straight on the wall! or you could do it on a canvas...
