store updates / my life

my light fixtures went in today! hark followed by hallelujah. upfit on the building is FINALLY almost done.

there was a nasty drop ceiling i got ambitious and ripped out myself one sunday afternoon, and the last two weeks have been dealing with the aftermath mostly. good news is there was a lovely original tin ceiling under the tiles.

in other news, i came home from painting furniture all day and got a wild hair to paint all of our trim downstairs. let me tell you: newly painted trim is about as fulfilling as it gets. wonders. WONDERS, is what it works.

also, rowdy has decided to do a motivational speaking tour series called Upward Dog.

I can't believe that you just happened to have tin ceilings hidden by the drop ceiling - how completely cool! LOVE the new lights and can't wait to hear more about the progress at the store.

You've just convinced me. I was looking at that fixture for about a month online. Now I need to get it.

Very cool! Lookin' good.

It's just beautiful! Why anyone would cover a tin ceiling is beyond me.

You are such a tease.

I am DYING to see what else is going in this place.

I bet you were giddy to discover that tin ceiling.

TeeHee...when does Rowdy's tour start? (:

Anyone who would cover up that gorgeous ceiling ought to be tossed out of all decent society. Congratulations on righting that heinous wrong.

Are you afraid that when customers come in the store and the wind blows in from the door opening that the lights will just float away in the wind like real dandelions?!? They look that light and airy!! Can't wait to visit.

You are not helping me. I have come up with a million reasons why I shouldn't buy that light. My last working excuse is that it will be a pain to keep clean. What do you think? How do you plan on dusting it? I was thinking compressed air can...

Dude, you seriously rock, and I am very excited for you. How lucky about the ceiling! I am sending you success vibes, not that you need them. I love watching your progress!

they are ikea, and they're great looking in person!

not so worried about cleaning them - more worried about getting the bills paid.

I am in love with those lights!!!!

great job! is your ceiling at an incline (it looks like that from the outside/roof line)? My question would be if you place the lights at the same level or do you ride the incline coaster and have the lights at different heights? best wishes for your shop- how exciting!
