in the january issue of martha, she suggested hanging a towel bar in the closet for scarfs. i tried it, and it's the perfect solution. also, there's that inspiration board i had mentioned.
and in better homes and gardens, they suggested a shadow box with a hinged door for jewelry. another winner!

I've done this with hinged front shadow box. Our local hobby lobby carries them in their framing department (in white!). Hobby Lobby rotates items at half off from week to week, so if you're patient these can be had for like 15 bucks. I popped the back off, covered in pretty print fabric and attached teacup hooks... it's perfect!
she's mostly an alley cat. but she's very puffy!
and the closet was 1/5 of reason for buying house. it's monsterous.
